The Real Reason Heatley's Leaving

Turns out it had nothing to do with Clouston, a woman, the media or anything like that. What happened is that Melnyk asked Heatley to change his number to 7, Spezza to 37, Alfredsson to 1111 and he was going to pimp the hell out of the (renamed) Pizza Pizza line. During the warmups he'd get them to wear pizzaheads, like cheeseheads but with pizza instead of cheese, and if they were named a game star, they'd throw pizza to the crowd.

Spezza didn't have a problem with it. Alfredsson convinced Melnyk to let him keep 11 by telling him that it he's doing twice the work of the other two when he's out on the ice with them. But Heatley got snippy about his precious 15 and was afraid that wearing the pizzahead would make it even harder to conceal his bald spot during the headgear change.
